Redondo Transfer 2 Week 5

This last week went by so fast!!! It was just jam packed and super busy. We weren’t able to meet with and teach a lot of people, but we were super busy. It was a good week, though.

I hit my one year mark!! It went by so crazy fast! I can’t believe how much has happened in the last year. I have loved every second of it. I feel like it is almost slipping through my fingers. The scary part is that I know the coming year will go by even faster. Part of me wants everything to just slow down because this is the only time in my life that I will be able to do this. I have grown so much this year. I have seen so many other people’s lives blessed, and seen so many other people change. The biggest change that I have witnessed so far has been in me. The Lord has blessed me with so many experiences, areas, companions, and people to teach. I have learned so much and developed so many new skills. I am excited for what the next year brings, and hope to see even more miracles, more change, and more growth! It is going to be an incredible year!!

We had a good district council on Tuesday. I talked about consecration. When I was in Brasil, one of my zone leaders, Elder Johansen, told us that consecration is made up of three parts: diligence, righteousness, and sanctification. I really liked that, so I used that as the basis for what I talked about.

On Thursday, we did an exchange with Elder Keil and Elder Walker. I went with Elder Walker to the Dash Point area. He has only been out for two transfers. He has been having some struggles lately. We had a really good companionship study and just talked about being missionaries and what the Lord expects of us. The rest of the day, we just did service. We were helping a member paint their house. I actually ended up getting paint in my eye, so we had to call poison control, flush out my eye, and clean the paint out. It wasn’t super fun. Painting was pretty fun, though.

On Friday, we had MLC. I love MLC so much. It is probably my favorite meeting as a missionary. The Spirit is always very strong, and I always learn a ton. We talked a ton about faith, and how faith is the first principle of the gospel. It should be our focus as missionaries to have more faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement. It was a really good discussion.

On Saturday, we did another free car wash. It went super well again. We had about 50 cars come through, and we were able to talk to a lot of people about family history work and the gospel. I talked to one lady named Shy, and when I started talking about family history work and how our families can be together forever, she started to cry. I talked with her for about 10 minutes and gave her a Book of Mormon. It was pretty great. We also had a huge RVcome through. We talked to the owner for about 30 minutes. He was pretty cool. We could only wash so much of the RV, though.

On Sunday, we originally had a bunch of lessons set up, but all of them fell through except for three. We did, however, get dinner with a part member family that has a private beach on the Puget Sound.They fed us steaks that were literally the size of our plates. It was the best way to end a fast Sunday!

I can’t believe that we are going into the last week of the transfer! It has gone by so super fast!

Scripture of the Week: 2 Corinthians 4:17

17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

I love representing the Savior in Brasil and Washington, I love my companion, I love the Gospel and Atonement of Christ, I love my family, and I love my Redeemer. I am ready and excited to work harder, learn more, and love better this week!

Love,

Elder Warren Matthew Dudley
